Springbrook falls an artists inspiration

I live in Australia, and am so lucky to be on the Gold Coast, surrounded by the beach to the East and the Hinterland to the West.

This particular work, is inspired by my many visits to Springbrook falls.

The work forms part of my mark making series where I obsess over painting the shape found in the banksia and protea flowers, zooming in on this detail has put me on a journey that was quite unexpected.

This work sold on Bluethumb Australia, but it is time I continued in this theme with the colour and flow of the brush strokes in similar tones creating an abstract interpretation of the beautiful waterfalls.

We have had so much rain over the last couple of years, you can’t fail to get the most a day trip to the falls. It’s a tourist hot spot, and best you wear good shoes, its worth every step !
